Well NYT is not the best source. That’s the paper which covered up Stalin’s slaughter of Ukrainians during his “collectivization and Hitler’s holocaust. That said I don’t have a major disagreement with many of the people quoted. I don’t think that over classification is as much of a danger as they are making out. It can be a nuisance and unproductive but hardly a danger as it stands. We are no where near as bad as say the old USSR where for example, you had scientists and engineers in five different departments working on the same project and none of them had a good understanding of what each other were doing.

Again if someone over classifies something then they are not sufficiently trained and don’t understand the material and process. In the military this rarely occurs. It’s when you get civilians, politicians and the alphabet Intel agencies to a lesser extent involved that you have this problem. When it comes to politicos they don’t even have to have a background investigation to obtain a clearance in many cases. For my part I think there are way too many people handling and classifying material not because they are competent to do so but because they are elected or assigned to a position that allows them to.

Oh, if he switched parties the Democrats would welcome him with open arms and circle the wagons around him.

Kinda stupid ‘toon here. People without any military insight or training are thinking that tanks are obsolete because of how many Russian tanks and other armored vehicles have been destroyed. Not so. Russian armored battle tactics suck and are basically nonexistent. There is a vast difference between western MBT training and tactics and that of Russia. The USA and NATO has a vast amount of experience in combined arms warfare. The Russian losses to weapons such as Jevelins, NLAWs, drones etc. would not be seen in western forces. Russia is using WWII and old Soviet tactics against 21st century tactics and equipment so of course they’re suffer massive losses.

No, the MBT is still a very effective weapon as utilized by the USA and western forces.

Y’know, I gotta say, those people commenting here about classified material and procedures, with no background in such matters should STFU. Because to those of us who do have such experience, you look like blithering idiots.

Oh yeah, with one exception truer words were never spoken. If you were President and did what Trump did you’d be okay. If not, you’d be sitting in Leavenworth. I knew several people who worked in the same place who wound up in the doo doo for mishandling classified material.

Um, it doesn’t work that way. Do you have any experience at all on how the classification system works. As one in the intelligence field I’ve classified thousands of things, documents, reports, tapes, videos and such. If you are trained in whatever field you know what’s classified. Note, sometimes information itself is not classified but the methods used to obtain it, is. Classic example of that is Kennedy declassification of Cuban Missile sites. What’s your experience in this because the wording of your comments is not reflective of someone familiar with the process.

Tucker falls into the right wing category of isolationists. No he’s not a Putin lover, by his past statements de detests the guy. But, he has no strategic sense of geopolitics going forward or a grasp at just how dangerous Russia is regarding their past history. He’s also very concerned about Russia’s nuclear arsenal and Putin’s likelihood to pull the trigger.

That said, Tucker has gotten a bit more…erratic in his commentary. Needless to say I don’t agree with some of his content, certainly not that regarding Ukraine. I always figured there was a good chance of the US and NATO getting sucked into a war with Russia, especially with Putin garnering more power and becoming more bizarre. Out of all the possible scenarios, what’s playing out is probably going to have the best probable outcome. Ukraine is suffering the most casualties bleeding out their lifeblood while NATO providing the munitions, equipment, supplies and other materials. It’s a fine line to walk but one that’s working so far.

    1. No, what I posted is public knowledge and is easy to find. You perform due diligence and be your own search monkey. Here I’ll even help you, do a search for both the Mueller and Durham investigations. Be honest and critical by reading both pro and con articles. Hey, you’re a librarian, should be easy peasy for you. Now if you could just take off your politically biased blinders an do some objective analysis.

What do you mean by President Trump hid phone calls? I think that most presidents phone conversations with other heads of states are not open to the public or to the other branches of government and are classified some level up to TS/SCI. So what if Biden has access to prior presidents phone call? That’s just obvious and part of the transition and smooth continuation of government.

Your comments and references shows more evidence that Obama actually colluded with Russia in regards to the 2016 election than President Trump did.

Heh, Heinlein, my favorite SF author since I was a preteen until David Weber came along with his Honor Harrington series. I actually met, shook hands and had a conversation with him and Virginia. He and his works were a major influence in my life and political view points.

That’s a bit of hilarious hypocrisy coming from the monarchy of U.A.E. which is a Sharia nation. Their treatment of their foreign workforce is horrendous. At least Israel’s Knesset has representation of Muslims, Christians and various ethnicities. What Middle East Islamic nation has such representation in their governments. Ha, doesn’t exist.
