I don’t think “Lilly” had cooler. What are they thinking?? All they needed was a blanket, a little bit of lunch and some water. I’m afraid that going to the park together, dressed the way they are, is going to send the entirely wrong message to their intended audience.
And somebody PLEASE tell Greg that women do not grow thick lips by simply putting on lipstick! He needs to decide if Luann has lips or not and stick with it. Every time he puts lipstick on her, his drawing loses it’s continuity because he shows her with all of a sudden thick lips.
This would be a great time to introduce twin brothers. One who is outgoing like Luann and the other one who is reserved and fact oriented like Bernice. The girls would start out being attracted to the boy who is most like them, but in the end, the girls would switch partners. There would be lots of funny situational story lines available, and the drawing would be somewhat easy to do with twins, instead of two totally different new characters. Greg could incorporate small differences and characteristics in each of them, something he would be very good at!
The idea of a promenade in the park, like we see in a popular tv series, is an excellent idea! What if young people who are interested in marriage started doing that instead of cruising on-line identities (often false), or hanging out in bars or back alleys? Even church is not that productive any more because the possibilities are limited. I often hear people complain about not knowing where to go to meet people. Just a thought.
Luann admires the whimsical, Bernice lives in the real world. I would love to see a story where Luann gets an outfit, and a basket, and goes out to try skipping through a meadow. Last panel would be the trespassing arrest!
