   I’m all for donating blood, but they won’t let me. When I lost my job in 2009, I tried to sell some plasma like I had done 25 years before, the last time I was out of work.

   Because I had a tiny skin cancer removed in the intervening years, they said I was permanently ineligible, despite (1) no recurrence after the initial pinhead mole, and (2) you can’t transmit cancer by a transfusion.

   Worst part was instead of telling me that straight out, they made me get a blood workup on my own dollar before sending me away.

    The classical radio station here is KBAQ, which styles itself “K-Bach”. I listen to it as a web stream.

    The German word “Bach” means stream. So that seems appropriate.
