Why are people in their forties talking like people in their seventies? Weird strip. Anyway, kids being anxious about their bodies, including height, is absolutely nothing new or snowflake-y. Absolutely bizarre to single THAT out instead of like… not having the right shade of blue hair, idk, something older people think signifies snowflake-ness.

Anyway, I guess regularly having drills to defend themselves from being murdered in school isn’t enough adversity. Somehow.

I trust a recipe more when the meat is seasoned while it’s cooking as opposed to just seasoning the “broth.” I don’t know that I’d call this “chili” so much as “spicy meaty black beans” but I might make it. I’d omit the sugar; I wonder if it actually needs it. Sweetness absolutely can bump up the savory/spicy flavor but very often it’s just… Americans like sweet stuff, dump some sugar in (nb: I’m American).

Onion powder, granulated onion, freeze dried onion, and various fresh onions taste different as do Garlic powder, granulated garlic, freeze dried garlic, minced garlic, crushed garlic, and sliced garlic. The dried stuff and the fresh stuff also has different textures. I use all in my cooking, including combining fresh onion or garlic with the bottled stuff. And sometimes I don’t have onions! Nothing like coming home with big dinner plans and finding that over the past twelve hours the onions have turned to mush.

This remains one of my favorite syndicated comics.

This happened to my parents. It cost them something like half their retirement funds. The worst part is, neither of them selected the guy on their own – my mom’s boss recommended him. The guy did the business’s accounts and had for over a decade. There was just a WAVE of this at the time.

Doesn’t she do yoga period? She works out regularly, walks, bikes, and jogs. It’s a shame she’s not in any organized sports any more, she seemed to really enjoy it and it was nice to see her interacting with a wider range of people.

    1) MZB and her husband were AWFUL awful people and their peers KNEW and took active steps to protect their own kids from them… without like doing anything to keep them out of their society or prevent their behavior as a whole or keep them from preying on other kids.

    2) Eddings was also AWFUL, like, just, atrocious.

Every few years this information sweeps the internet and flushes out folks who weren’t aware of it, shocks and horrifies them, and then it’s forgotten in about two weeks until it rises up again and catches a whole new crop of people by surprise. I absolutely can’t blame anyone who doesn’t know this, it was very hushed up then and how can you know what isn’t discussed? But yeesh I wish it’d just… become common knowledge already. Like how Asimov was a big ol p e r v but people don’t discuss it often.

Yeah, this has happened to me several times and it’s frustrating. I guess it’s what fan fiction is for.

Ugh, the curse of open plan offices.
