While I would’ve liked a little more denoument, I think Mark did a fine job with the time he was allotted.
This isn’t like the old days, when Gould could do pretty much whatever he felt like. Shoot someone in the head? Sure! Take a year to tell a story? Heck, why not?
Mark had a severely limited number of daily panels, for example. Throw in editors, publishers who will tell you what and what you can’t do, and a short time to tell a full story, and you can imagine what it’s like.
Still, I can imagine that final daily. Dick and the gang burst through the door to find Yeti and a gigantic spider, and…Sam: “Dick! Get off the chair! Lizz got the spider!”Dick: “Wait, no, Sam, I’m just up here, ah, changing the light-bulb! Yes, that’s it. Very dark in here.”
Hey gang-Mike asked me to come and tell you that he just got out of an 8 day hospital stay. It wasn’t terribly serious, not COVID related, and he’s home and okay now.
I love it. Joe and Shelley did a great job with that first panel, and then whipped right around to show us they could do a three panel gag comic just as well!
Not if you live in Western Washington. It’s a fashion thing out here for men to wear sandals in any weather.
