It’s my understanding from reading some of the material from that time, that the caste system was Hindu in origin. The south of the Indian subcontinent was not originally Indo-European, so not originally Hindu. It became a means for the Hindu ruling families and Hindu priests to maintain their positions. Buddha and (his name escapes me, but he was one of the founders of Janism) this founder hated the caste system and regularly preached against it. Buddhism was hugely popular in India and was a real threat to Hinduism. Thus the Hindus held a conference and Buddha became one of the incarnations of Krishna, which is an incarnation of Vishnu. All of this happened in about the 7th or 8th centuries AD. There is a great deal of ethnocentrism involved with it, so look out.

Reminds me a little of a 20th century sculpture, maybe Henry Moore.

The cartoonist got it wrong. They should be levying fines for damaging the rim by throwing bricks at it.

There must be a few of you that have watched the backyard shenanigans between squirrels and robins. The squirrel tries to get into the robin’s nest; the infuriated robin chases, swoops, and strikes the squirrel; the squirrel runs for cover. Then the squirrel tries to get into the nest again.

Okay. I stand corrected. And @Be This Guy, I am a retiree who dropped cable almost 20 years ago. I got fed up having 100 channels of nothing that I wanted to watch.

There are people who still have cable?

Not a very good job with the hip and leg of the man.

That would probably be a hawk in my neighborhood, and Bob would be breakfast.
