This arc reminds of a misadventure I’d with a friend back in my twenties, where my folks went away somewhere for a day or so, and so I decided to borrow the old minivan and drive us over to an area with some malls and hang out. Buddy wanted to stop and get a smoothie-like drink from a cafe-bakery on the corner….I pulled up, right over a catch basin, that had some broken shards of glass sticking upright wedged between the grate-bars…punctured the front right tire immediately. It was late in the afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday and fortunately I had, somehow, knowledge of some auto shops up the road that I went to on foot (I didn’t want to chance driving on a flat), one after the after, as some were closing, before I found one that was open that would replace the popped tire. Can’t actually remember if a tow was involved or if I did drive on the flat a few blocks to the nearest tire shop. But somehow got that all done inside of an hour, and had the vehicle back in front of their house with (so far as I know from the decade elapsed hence) no one ever wiser (maybe not even me? :P)….I certainly think about that every time I drive over any catch basins!
Sitting at home comfortably and quietly reading these over the years, one ponders how it may have taken many years to process an unfortunate experience and yet still return to a peace that encompasses All. The journey was worthwhile, merely for thinking it so~
NGL I’ve imagined doing this when the missus is on meeting ;P
