You’ve all been had by this math troll. The average comic reader doesn’t care for math precision but its illustration. I’m preaching to the choir, I know, sorry.
Because I was using 1Password at work, I lost access to my info on the company’s payroll website after I was laid off. Good thing I kept a copy of the security questions on a secure note on my mobile phone, and I was able to recover access to my payroll account (for tax forms and such). IT refused to even let me recover those credentials. Moral of the story: if it is a company-enabled web account you have key info, keep a secure copy on your device.
I suspect “skill set“ is yet another annoying and unnecessary tech word to sound sophisticated and modern. Those who use that phrase sound like machines.
I disagree with Pig and his nonsensical statement, that one can choose to be joyous. Like other mantras from the American positive psychology cult, it is a hollow approach to life. For example, to be joyous implies to feel joy, and who has any control on one’s feelings? They come unbidden. On the other hand, you can’t think yourself into feeling joyous anymore than you can fall in love by just thinking about it. On the other, to consider one’s feelings under any given circumstance and learn from them is, to me, a more productive approach.
The way I see it, there are several ways to meditate. I see no benefit in meditation as having a mind empty of thoughts (that’s kinda impossible). I prefer meditation as a form of stillness. Mantras are stupid to me, as repeating the same phrase is akin to brainwashing, like chanting. :P
Every natural language has their own puns and double meanings; they’re not easily transferable or translated from one language to another. Nothing special about English.
Not al resealable bags are properly manufactured. I’ve encountered Rat’s problem many times. My solution? Fold the top and clasp it shut with a plastic clasp. There has to be a better solution, though; we can send a stupid billionaire to orbit but we can’t improve on zip-lock closures.
