   I won’t even hazard a guess. I believed Gunther’s dream and that Luann, not Frank, was skydiving, and not because I missed clues. Could go either way.

   See outonalimb’s response. He might have used his tapes of Luann for his classwork as strongly hinted, but we never saw that. He wrote his own essay.

   Thanks, outonalimb. I remember the episode the same way you do, but wasn’t sure where to start looking. IF he transcribed his recordings of Luann for his course assignment, then of course he was cheating. But did he? I stand by my assertion that we don’t know for sure. And his prize-winning essay was not Luann’s work.

   And did he actually cheat? He sure gave the impression he planned to after his tutoring session with Luann, but his prize-winning essay was all him, using the same topic (Van Gogh’s diary?) Inspried by Luann, but not necessarily plagiarism.

   I know May 10 showed Luann drifting off to the music of the ocarina right before the thunk, but does that mean this is a dream sequence, or was she jolted awake? I can see it going either way. They’ve used dreams (Gunther/Bets) and imaginative stories (Luann skydiving) a few times lately.

   Tara called for help as instructed. Campus security is on the way. I don’t see a problem with that. They may be the college’s “first responders.”

   I thought of that too, but as I recall “studenting” was never one of Luann’s favorites. I’m not convinced she would be a good fit for medical school.

   She is showing leadership and the ability to stay calm in an emergency. Those traits will serve her well regardless of what type of work she eventually does. Although paramedic, EMT, nursing and other medical fields are all admirable pursuits, I think we’re getting a little ahead of things by seeing this as foreshadowing a specific career choice. I think it has broader implications for Luann’s self -confidence and personal development. Just my opinion.

    This arc seems promising. I didn’t realize it could be part of a dream, will have to go back and read that. Dream or not, it may not lead Luann to a career, but it should make her realize that she has many strengths she can draw on. Not a blank slate, just a young woman exploring possibilities.
