“one article or argument does not negate two millennia of biblical scholarship”
LOL. Oh boy.
Yes, it does. Facts over fiction. You pivot to other bible crap, but don’t talk about the actual translation of the actual biblical verse that xtians use as a cudgel – the one mentioned in the article.
So, like your buddy, I know I can’t change your mind because you are blind to facts. So be it. I can only be glad that in another 100 years, all current religions will be in the same garbage dump as Zeus, Thor and Hera. Good riddance to theology.
oh good lord (pun intended). you apparently are not aware that NONE of the writers were “eyewitnesses” to any of the events. All the of writings were done decades, if not centuries AFTER the purported events.
I’m done. you have been fooled, and believe fiction over facts.
I am so glad that all of the theocrats will be voted out in november.
… and this was so cute: "Obviously, you can’t include every book written about Christ just because it mentions Christ. "
Why not?
And the best argument against believing the bible – Matt 14:22-36, peter walking on water. This proves you don’t have to be jesus to walk on water, so jesus isn’t that much of a god if humans can walk on water too, right?
Also, if Mark, Luke and John were in the same boat … wouldn’t THEY have written about this amazing miracle too? That is a pretty amazing thing that they would have included if it happened … but they didn’t write about it AND THEY WERE THERE. So which book is lying?
Your “studying” has done you no good, obviously. I don’t claim to know what the original bible said, but if you actually STUDY, you might find that translators prior to the current edition of the bible wrote a different version:
And your whole spiel of “bishops” and “canon” ad naseum just underline the point I am making – that the whole system of the church is rigged by the people who wish to control you. MEN tell you what is ‘holy’, not your “god”.
As Mark Twain so aptly said, “It is easier to fool people, than to convince them they have been fooled.” Spoiler alert: you’ve been fooled.
P.S.: “church” and “democratically” can’t be used in the same sentence. No church does ANYTHING democratically, if it only includes decisions made by the clergy and doesn’t include the congregation. That is the OPPOSITE of ‘democratic’.
jesus works at food lion; already met him. he’s a nice guy, unlike all your gods who unalive all the first born of egypt and m#rder everyone on earth but a boatload of miscreants.
That is a mighty short tub, even for the 50s
