Let us not forget Trump’s speech on the “beautiful” Battle of Gettysburg. “It was so much, and so interesting, and so vicious and horrible, and so beautiful in so many different ways—it represented such a big portion of the success of this country,” And let us not forget “And the statement of Robert E. Lee, who’s no longer in favor—did you ever notice it? He’s no longer in favor. ‘Never fight uphill, me boys, never fight uphill.’ They were fighting uphill, he said, ‘Wow, that was a big mistake,’ he lost his big general. ‘Never fight uphill, me boys,’ but it was too late.”

Funny thing, the Tic Toc we know does not exist in China. They have a counterpart called Douyin. Tic Toc is in 150 countries but not in China. Douyin is only in China. Both are part of ByteDance. 60% of Tic Toc’s parent company ByteDance Ltd. is owned by global investors, 20% by its co-founders and 20% by employees, including thousands of Americans. The Chinese government took a 1% ownership stake, known as a “golden share,” at one of ByteDance’s China-based subsidiaries. Tic Toc’s main servers appear to be in Singapore and in the U.S. Tic Toc is working towards having all US data stored on Oracle servers. Something Congress is not gripping about, China owns 380,000 acres of land in the US. Mostly in Texas and North Dakota. Tencent, a Chinese digital company behind WeChat and League of Legends, has $150 million invested in Reddit. Other US stuff owned by Chinese firms: Starwood Hotels, Smithfield Foods, Ingram Micro, General Electric Appliance Business, Legendary Entertainment Group, Motorola Mobility and AMC Entertainment Holdings.

Actually there is some decent news coverage on Tic Toc. Unlike some outlets, you can see viewpoints from both sides.

Between Pepsi and Coke, they control almost 75% of the carbonated soft drink market. Market concentration between 1 or 2 companies is a big deal when it comes to prices.

There was a recent interview of a Christian Nationalist Pastor. He said that women should not be allowed to vote. Men are the head of the househols and whatbthey say is gold. That if it weren’t for women, no Democrate would have ever been elected. AH! One Party rule!! Sounds like China, Cuba and Russia!
