They were the only good reviews the movies received. I would like to read what Alexander Woollcott would have said about the movies currently considered great(?).
I like history and I was a mouthy kid. I told my history teacher I did not like isolated dates. I liked a timeline, from the paleolithic to the present and where a certain date fitted in and everything that was happening then, scientific and cultural, how it was affected by the past and how it affected the future, he complied with my suggestion and history class became a lot more interesting. Of course, back then history was fact based, warts and all – not sanitized and politically correct.
I was a child of the 50s and we were all free range so I can understand April’s desire to explore. She is just being a kid and Elly a typical mom. I could not stand to be a child today, constantly being under the thumb of a parent.
