It’s obvious that the poet is troubled, unsure of his relationships, and feels he has no one that can really understand him. Locked in a world not of his own choosing, he can only flounder about in a sad character of his own being, (This is satire, I’m a published poet)

Back in my day, we didn’t have spring break, the only break we got is when it got too hot, whey opened the windows. We did have a fan, but we had to take turns using it, Our only recess was a fire drill. (grin)

I think I remember an Orca showing up one time.

Christian nationalism is nothing new, of course, if it didn’t start with Constantine, he certainly was a big influence. Then Charlemagne, who felt it necessary to kill a bunch of people if they didn’t convert. And so on. Many sects continue to hold on to their pagan roots while trying to act pious. Jesus had some good ideas, his followers managed to twist them into something ugly. I know more and more people are abandoning the church, and I think many pastors, frightened they might not be able to afford their private jets anymore, are looking to government to fix things. That idea has never really worked. There’s a verse in Psalms, “Trust not in Princes, or in children of men, for in them there is no redemption.”

Some people want to believe their own erroneous assumptions, especially when they line up with their own prejudices.

I’ve been wondering what kind of shark Sherman is – he looks too small to be a great white – but I wonder what would happen if a great white showed up. Now that could be funny.

I’ve always maintained that we’ve got things backward – Customers should come first, employees second, and stockholders dead last. If customers are happy with your product, they will buy more of it. If employees are satisfied, they will make a better product, both combined which will actually increase profits, helping stockholders even more. Of course, that’s just theory. Doesn’t take into account that the ones running things are human. Well, sort of. (grin).

Overtime? What’s that? Seriously, my company couldn’t wait to put me on salary, no overtime. So if I stayed late fixing a problem or came to work on Christmas eve to handle an emergency, I barely got an “attaboy!”
We poets must suffer for our art. One of my favorites is “Miniver Cheevy” by E.A. Robinson
