I just had to replay the ENTIRE suite just now. I didn’t regret any part of it. What a classic! Practically the entire first half of the album.

And watch out for a fur trapper named Nanook while you’re at it. Otherwise you’ll have to go visit the parish of St. Alfonzo.

    Someone’s on a Zappa jag today. :-)

Which song? “Mmmm x 4” or “Superman’s Song”? I hope it’s the latter.

It’s not about Superman or Tarzan. It’s about morality & integrity. The ability to be a good person regardless of how much power you have.

“Snitches get stitches.” That’s how it was at my school.

That did happen to me during Phys Ed. Gym shorts AND undershorts too, while I was doing chin-ups. I was in 7th or 8th grade at the time.

Depending on the teacher. Many of the ones I had were on the verge of retirement, just counting down the days. A couple of them were a parent to their kids, whom also were attending the same school. But more important was how sympathetic I was that regardless of what teacher I had, they all had to put up with the same kind of abuse my peers offloaded daily. The name-calling, threats, etc., just wasn’t right. I never participated in that and was always nice to them.

“A torn jacket is soon mended; but hard words bruise the heart of a child.”

“If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man’s life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.”

Both are quotes from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Mine did more than words and beating me up. Oh, it’s worse; enough stuff to get them locked up nowadays for a very long time. 6 years of that garbage, plus a lifetime trying to cope with the affects (exorcise those “demons”) as an adult.

Sorry, but I hold ZERO TOLERANCE to bullying.

    “Shall we play a game?”

“A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?”

I don’t think his Mom would approve of an anatomically correct naked snowman on the property. She has enough trouble with the number of times Calvin had done that to the disgust of the neighbors in much warmer seasons.
