   She should be calling 911 or asking someone else to do it and starting CPR if she knows it. Maybe this guy knows what he’s doing, but they still need EMTs and an ambulance. But…he could be Luann’s next love interest. Someone here mentioned that she might meet a doctor while visiting Mrs. Horner in the hospital — this officious fellow student might be more age-appropriate.

   To be mean and cheap and flippant? She could have done chores for her mother, fixed something up for her or done an original artwork or written something about her mother to give to her if she had no money (or just wanted to spend it only on herself). This is like the Sunday strips where she insults her father, and it’s supposed to be funny. As someone on here has said, Luann still acts like a 13-year-old sometimes.

   Or you could make one. This strip leaves a bad taste about Luann’s character — selfish and insincere.

   Kind of like a guided meditation to unlock creativity…nice joke at the end! Yes, Tara is tapping away, but not everything she writes has to be great just because it comes easy for her. And maybe Luann will wake up refreshed and think of something different for her…not humor but something more thoughtful.

   A cooking class could be good. She probably doesn’t cook at home, so she could try it out and see if she likes it. And if she does, the Fuse might hire her for the kitchen. She can learn culinary skills at a community college; where I live, there’s one that has its own student-run restaurant — they get paid and get some professional experience.

   If she’s actually working — which seems debatable — she may not be going full time. We never see her taking more than a couple of courses at a time, if that.

   Community colleges have technical certificate programs as well as associate’s degrees. She probably wouldn’t get credit toward an A.A. with a welding course, unless it’s metal sculpture.

    I can’t believe they’re really going to have Luann go to Italy. They’d have to imagine a new circus-arts world and characters there and take her out of interacting with existing characters for weeks. This strip does go a ways toward explaining what the rebranding arc was all about, though…Luann makes a big change to prove to critical readers that she can. It should take at least a couple of weeks to get her to Italy if they do decide to go that way…but it’s more likely to end up the way skydiving did.
