The inflation number change you are referring to is arguable among experts. Some say it is less than 1.5 points below what the number would be based on 1980 calculations. Food is included in the CPI which is the major reference for inflation.
If the ‘left’ tried to turn over elections it was. in actuality, legal challenges, The best known being Gore vs. Bush which was extremely close and Gore probably would have wound up winning if the SCOTUS had allowed the recount in FL to continue. Regardless, none of those candidates went beyond legal challenges, whereas we all know that was not the case with Trump. In terms of the working class supporting Trump, it’s a Faustian bargain. He is not running to help the working class. He’s running to help himself.
As Persimmon and Boxspring indicated, he is in major pucker-up mode right now; trying for the VP spot. Although I am sure he has had original ideas at some point, I’ve only heard him utter platitudes when he has run for senate – nothing of substance. He is also a chameleon as he initially expressed interest in the democratic party, but he couldn’t advance fast enough there so he switched to the republican party.

This may the most RELEVANT election we will have. Electing Trump is a big step towards Authoritarianism – see Project 2025. Electing Biden will keep our messy, wonderful constitutional experiment intact and ongoing.
