   Apparently GoComics didn’t let the url go through. Do a web search on “tandem jump” and you’ll see photos where the instructor has a helmet but the jumper doesn’t.

   No skydiving center will let you jump alone on your first jump. You have to do a tandem jump where you are strapped to the instructor. The instructor is the one with the parachute, and in the few photos I saw, the instructor is also the only one with a helmet, so the details are accurate today!
