   Lots of luck getting rid of guns. In countries where all guns are banned there are still mass shootings. In fact, some of the worst mass shootings are in those countries. No armed citizen to stop or reducer the carnage. Mass shootings in the US have been stopped by non military, non police more than once.

   US Constitution: “….provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare….”

   Defense must be provided ie, paid for. Just because we do not need, for example, a specific tank when produced doesnt mean we should not produce it. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Does the military waste money? Well, so does every program. So that doesn’t mean don’t do it.

   Nowhere does the Constitution say to provide general or specific welfare. It says promote, and only general. I don’t want a lot of programs stopped, but if it allows people to not work who can, that needs to be looked into.

   Wrong. If the provider takes medicare, and most do, they have to provide care regardless of ability to pay. Even If you do not have medicare. It happens in hospitals all the time.
