I really, really can’t understand how anyone could start smoking these days. You have all the information you could possibly want as evidence that it’s a stupid, stupid idea. Tobacco companies should have been switching to gardening products by now.

You’re right, but “Hardy” kinda works as well. “Party Hard” is a thing, so “Party Hardy” is a nice colloquialism. :)

There are a lot of talking cockroaches. There are 559 of them that I can think of right off the top of my head.

I don’t it is a matter of “I’ve seen 3,000 deaths on TV and in video games, therefore it must be okay.” It is more the matter of kids being desensitized to it. As well, particularly in violent games, the concept of killing someone becomes almost existential – you don’t feel like you’re doing it, because you’ve done it virtually for so long. I think this becomes more of a thing as the realism gets ramped up.

When I was in my teens (80s), there were arcade games like “Commando.” Cartoonish games where you knew you were just killing pixels. Then came Mortal Kombat, and the realism ramped up. I remember seeing the game, and actually being a little sickened by it – like one would feel when you find a recently killed animal.

That was the 1980s. Now, we’re 40 years into graphic advancement. The kills you see now in video games is very, very realistic. Once video games get to the point where you can’t tell the characters from actual humans….

These days, if he had that hairstyle he’d be mistaken for an insurance salesman.

Oh, I dunno. I think this aged rather nicely, since it has come out that they were never happy together.
