A home without a cat — and a well-fed, well-petted, and properly revered cat — may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove title? – Mark Twain
A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. It is the crucial test. None but the humane treat a cat well. – Mark Twain
I once had a little three-generation cat family of five. After the last one died at 22 and a half years the house suddenly felt so empty and deathly quiet. I have never felt so lonely in all my life. I set about searching pet rescue websites for a new companion. I found a couple that I wanted but when I called they were always already taken. After a couple more weeks of searching I found a photo of a kitten that I instantly knew I had to have. That was nine years ago and now LillyMae, a pretty little medium haired tortoise shell, is my constant companion. It feels like she is the one that rescued me instead of the other way ’round. I feel more than ever that Mark Twain had it exactly right when he said “A home without a cat—and a well-fed, well-petted, and properly revered cat—may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove title?”
There’s a reason I call it FaceCrook. You should look up the shady stuff it has done with your personal info. People post WAY too much personal information online and FaceCrook is the main repository.
It’s possible that whoever installed the software didn’t walk them through it
The companies that make those devices have no incentive to tell them how to turn off the tip screens since they get a percentage of the total for each transaction.
They can ALL turn off the tip screen completely, as well as set the suggested minimum tip amounts. Many claim that they don’t know how to do it or can’t do it. But they leave them on because tips have gone way up since these terminals started being used. Now ask them who gets the tips. There are many reports of owners keeping them for themselves.
