We had to take in 3 more kittens even though we “tried” to stop fostering kittens. These little guys are special. They were rescued from a old “sump” where someone of questionable origin decided it would be fun to set fire to a mom and her 4 babies (about 4 weeks old). The mom did what most feral moms do, they will save one, usually the strongest and abandon the rest. A nearby resident saw this incident and called police and fire. The culprit had poured a ring of gas around them and set it off. The neighbor got the babies and brought them to us. They are missing some whiskers..fur is burned in some areas and tiny noses and ears are burned. We put them all on a course of antibiotics and have them in a large crate, with fuzzy buddies’ beds water and food. They would not eat at first so had to syringed with cat milk mixed with baby food. This was about two weeks ago and they all are eating well and now playing and rolling around their cage. Best of all they are healing. So lets welcome “Maxie, Brick and Peewee” to their new world. They should re home easily as they are cute. Their burns will heal, but they will have scars. I am hoping there is a special hell for the person or persons responsible for trying to burn a beautiful group of kittens. Who knows, maybe they would have not made it as a feral..now they have a chance. Have a great weekend everyone.
