Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for June 29, 1997
Transcript:
Charlene: Aack! The year is half over! Cathy: Ta da! Charlene: Have you gotten fit? Cathy: No! Charlene: Gotten organized? Cathy: No! Charlene: Saved money? Cathy: No! Charlene: Found love? Cathy: No! The first six months of the year is a tension build-up period. The more things you try and fail at, the better! It's prep time! That critical pre-creation zone wher the compost heap of angst and frusteration has to build to generate a life force all its own! You set goals in January... Are defeated buy February... Despondent by March... Deranged by April... Desperate by Man... If you make it to the end of June without making progress on any front, you are a smoldering pile of unrealized dreams, ready to explode into the second half of the year with productivity and results! ...And I did it! I achieved an across-the-board lack of success, and am ready for the fumes of failure to blast me into the arms of triumph! Charlene: That's the most pitiful rationalization I've ever heard! Cathy: Thank you! 36 hours left in June and my track record is intact!
