Dad: What are you working on now, son? Zonker: Cottage industry numero dos, Pop! Macrame plant hangers! We're talking big bucks here! The company pays $13.50 per unit of 24 assembled hangers. I can do three hangers an hour. I'm no math whiz, but I figure if I work four hours a day, I should clear about $3,000 a week! Incredible, huh? Dad: I'll say. Good luck. Zonker: Frankly, I don't know why I bothered with college.
Definitely no math wiz. He does 3 HANGERS per hour, so 3*4 (hours) = 12 hangers per day. 12 *7 (days per week) = 84 hangers a week, or3.5 units. 3.5 * 13.5 = $47.25 a week.
To make $3000 a week he’d need to complete @222 UNITS/week, or a bit better than 5 Units/hour if he worked a 40 hour week.
