21st Century Policing... A police officer pulls his gun. A group of people have their cell phones out and pointed at him. People: Stop... or we'll shoot!
Good officers (the majority of police) have nothing to fear from cameras being around. Hmm, how many bad guys, like armed robbers, bank robbers, and others focus their attention on NOT being recognized on the cameras they know are there? Then take in those who attack officers for various reasons, including resisting arrest- how many of THEM want cameras around?
Dash camera showed Scott fleeing potential arrest, NO he should NOT have been shot for that, but follow up documentation shows why his family lawyers are being reasonable in addressing he wasn’t just a “nice guy” caught in the middle. It is interesting that criminal activity has been behind the most recent cases of “police abuse”.
Deadly force must be defensible by police. What about when gangs, or other “bad folks” use it?
