Holly: Sunday is International Women's Day, Gramma. Gramma Evie: What's that? Holly: The day we celebrate the economic and social achievements of women...and press for the social changes still needed to improve the lives of women EVERYWHERE. Gramma Evie: I'll make cake.
I happened to be working in China during International Women’s Day a couple of years ago; I had never heard of International Women’s Day before that. At my workplace every woman was greeted at the door and given a long-stemmed rose, and treated to a half-day off, with pay. After I returned to the US, I found that it was not observed here. This year, however, there are some observances set up in my company.
Edited to add, we still have to make our own cake tho! LOL
