Point is, history is full of stories about kings/rulers overthrown by loyal servants who ended up having more power than them. That’s how Charlemagne’s fther (or grandfather, I’m not sure) overthrew the merovingian dynasty of France, many Roman emperors murdered by their praetorian guard. Two centuries later, power is still power so I think the CIA shouldn’t be left to do all they wanted.
