Adam: Actually, so ahead and play. I'll take care of this. Laura: Adam, no. Adam: Laura, I'm wearing a helmet!
Our kids did this when they were little - they’re teens now - and they were so reckless that we just got used the the loud thump that meant injuries. Every time we heard it, we called out, “You got blood?” If they could answer, we knew they were conscious. If they said, “Yes,” we came with the bandages. They never broke anything till they went to school and started playing other games with the same reckless abandon.
