My take:
Agnes is a romantic…
… raised by her grandmother, and imagining fiery legends around her missing parents.
She thinks an epic storybook love will come someday and be perfect and forever…
but she’s not interested yet…
she has fame and fortune to find first.
And she’s especially in denial about a non-heroic figure like Bob.
Trout is pragmatic…. raised by a ….well…. an unusual mother and a whole bunch of “uncles.”
Boys are weird, but maybe just getting to be a little interesting…
so, you know…. a boyfriend might be nice if you can get one.
Kinda like french fries with your burger.
But only till Friday, so, what the heck, Bob will do.
