About Al Goodwyn Editorial Cartoons
Al Goodwyn began cartooning in 1989 when he put his physics education and technical experience to work for an international physics publication, producing science themed cartoons over the next 28 years. In 1997, he expanded into editorial cartoons for a local newspaper. Since then he has been widely featured and has won numerous editorial cartooning awards, most recently from the South Carolina Press Association in 2018 and 2019, the 2019 Dateline Award from the DC Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, and 2nd place in the 2020 Green Eyeshade Award for editorial cartooning in the Southeast.
Al signed on with Creators Syndicate in 2020 and produces four cartoons per week. His work leans to the conservative side but he often hits any side deserving of a skewering.
