Sure, diabetes isn’t a food allergy. M J didn’t say it was. I have Celiac Disease- which can lead to cancer, lupus, and death over time- and there are similarities i food-controlled illnesses. Reading labels becomes a life-and-death part of life. I almost ended up in the hospital for malnutrition before my diagnosis when I ate well!
Between looking for wheat, barley, rye, and several things made from wheat that don’t earn the CONTAINS WHEAT (US gov’t’s caps) and peanuts (mild allergy), and how sick I get if I eat wheat- and allergies can kill too, and quick for some.
