Regardless when it’s celebrated, I do take umbrage at fathers being portrayed as lazy, perhaps likable goofs while moms are portrayed as the ever-hard-working, selfless jack-of-all-trades. It’s time for these stereotypes to die. For what it’s worth, my dad was doing laundry and dishes back in the 60s (as I do too – in fact already have done this morning). Moms and Dads are partners, and it really is time to treat us as such. At the very least don’t mock someone on a day supposedly reserved to honor them. Humph.
