I have a dachshund Scrappy who is the Black Bart of our neighborhood. If you are walking your dog and he gets outside without a leash, run for your lives. The guy who cuts my grass has a yellow lab, Maggie who hangs out while he cuts my grass. One day he came to the door to ask me something. I opened the door and Scrappy barreled out the door after Maggie. Maggie being bigger and more long legged would just hop over my evergreen bushes to get away. Scrappy, with a partially paralyzed rear end would drag himself in a direct line over the bush to try and get Maggie. After a short time, Alan, the owner of Maggie, asked me in his slow southern drawl, “What’s that dog’s name?” I answered, “Scrappy”. He watches another 15 seconds of the chase, turns to me and says, “That’s a good name for that dog.”
