An iphone gets robbed while walking down the street. A super hero rotary phone hits the robber with it's chord and saves the day.
You could literally knock out a robber with the handset of one of the old Bakelite monsters of the 50s or early 60s, then call the cops (works even during a power outage) and tie him up with the cord until they arrive.
