Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for August 05, 1986
Transcript:
Hobbes: Making a sign? Calvin: I'm declaring the creek back in the woods "Calvin's Creek." When you discover something, you're allowed to name it and put up a sign. Hobbes: But suppose you didn't discover that creek. Calvin: Of course I did! Nobody else has a sign there, right?
So if this is the case, what does this mean in the ways of Calvin’s state of mind haha. This must mean that at some point the Hobbs personality took over(Calvin’s body) and placed that sign down by the creek. This would indicate that Calvin has split personalities, it also proves a statement I made later on in the comic. That basically Hobbs is Calvin’s grown up and mature self(Hobbs) trying to pretty much help his(Calvin) adolescent self work toward growing up. Of course it is just a comic and I am probably way reading into this haha, but from a psychological stand point it seems logically sound.
