Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for September 04, 2014
Transcript:
Calvin: "Ok, the first thing our robot needs is a head" Hobbes: "Should we use a coffee can?" Calvin: "No, that's too small. The head has to hold this tape recorder. See, I've made recordings for the robot's voice!" Hobbes: "Really?" Calvin: "Sure! This way, our robot not only communicates, but we can also "program" him to have the proper personality!" Hobbes: "Personality?" Calvin: "Right. Robots should be RESPECTFUL" Recording: "How may I ease your life, oh grand exalted master?"
A device that recorded voices for playback on reel-to-reel tape, a precursor of the 8-track, cassette and CD.
