It is in our nature as a nation of perennial optimists to hope for some unprecedented (and politically impossible) judicial remedy that will result in the return to some imagined right state for our democracy, but it seems that it is also in our nature (as good natured optimists) to be incapable of stepping back and looking at the extent of the damage that has been done since this vile, vindictive vitriol was first vented against then vice president Biden..
I try to keep from expressing the obvious since my own personal interest in the remnants of the American political process are nil, but American democracy is a dead man walking, tottering tangentially towards the macroeconomic and geopolitical forces that, like an unseen black hole, spin the spent mass of a star on the verge of its own internal collapse towards unseen and unimaginable forces that will rend it apart..
Personally, I just hope my mountains are quiet and green for the good years I have left.
Stay safe in the cold and happy holidays to all.. Truly love and cherish what you have while you can – that is a gift that cannot be bought and seems to be too rarely appreciated until it is too late and all that remains is nostalgic heartache..
