Back in IL, our town had the Chili Open every winter. When the ice on the lake was thick enough, generally in January, the open was held. Astroturf was used for the greens and holes were drilled into the ice just deep enough to hold the balls, which were orange. Chili was served afterwards
That sounds like a great time Marg, we used to have a football game on the lake in in an open field on New Year’s Day, but afterwards everyone was to beat up to do anything but drag themselves to tehir cars and go home.
