Please, NO!!Nothing annoys the English people I know more than hearing Americans using what they think are English expressions, most of which English people never actually say, in a horrible, fake English accent.
It even makes me cringe.Especially when they meet an English person, and start saying that stuff…I want to sink into the floor.At least Maria seems to get it.I also love it at Renaissance Faire or on Talk Like a Pirate Day, when they put “eth” on the end of every other word, and throw in a few bad imitations of modern Cockney slang, thinking it’s Elizabethan.
Bad enough that the English will never forgive Dick Van Dyke for his accent in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”
