Those you cited never said they would have transparency. You are right; they are now in the dust-bin of history. So since the ‘new’ administration was going to introduce transparency, why was it not forthcoming? Just as President Obama retorted to John McCain when he was chided for his (lack of) transparency, “John, the campaign is over” is indicative of the pervasive cynicsm embodied in his presidency. He said what he felt he had to say, not necessarily with how he would ACT, after all.
