My husband was taking a college course in art and one of the assignments was to go to the local art museum. I went with him. I saw some really wonderful artwork. I also saw some I wouldn’t call art. One that sticks out in my memory was a framed paper of some sort that only had a straight line drawn in pencil. The first thought that went through my head was, that’s art? Really? My kids could do that with a ruler. Other “artwork” that I’ve seen, I could have done with no trouble at all. In my mind, real art is being able to draw something that looks so life like, you could pick it up and hold it. That is something I can never do. I’ve tried. What I draw, looks like a 5 year old did it. Modern art doesn’t impress me in the least.
