Roland: The Kennedy "Clan". Heirs to a powerful liberal legacy, they aspire fanatically to a state of total grace. Restricted during the summer months to a family "compound," clan members are forced to practice tehir backhands, grow long, unkempt hair, and pose for endless group photographs. Later, in the fall, younger clan members are sent away to the rigors of boarding school, while older members are confined to Harvard. Discipline is tight. Only after they have completed their studies may they run for office.
