TV: What's going on, dad? I'm defending our home from foreign invaders, son. The following is one of a series of profiles about typical members of the national rifle association. Hi, I'm the NRA. I'm Joe Smith, a law-abiding spokesman and family man from Abliene, Texas. My favorite hobby is collecting handguns. Like many Americans today, I'm budget-conscious, so I only buy inexpensive snub-noses. I also like the new armor-piercing bullets, because you never know when a burglar might try to hide behind your refrigerator. A lot of my friends think I'm a gun nut. But that's just not true. As a member of the National Rifle Association, I'm a safety nut! Except for when I'm shooting burglars or repelling foreign invaders. I always keep my handguns on safety, just like the NRA taught me. That way when I'm out of the house and my kids start playing with my guns, they rarely go off! Sportsman. Safety nut. Loving father. I'm the NRA.
