Newscaster on TV: Said Gingrich, the only House speaker ever to be reprimanded and fined for ethical lapses, "I'm appalled by D.N.C. ethical lapses!" The Democratic National Committee is currently being investigated for a wide variety of fund-raising abuses during the presidential campaign...including multiple charges of illegal solicitations from foreigners who were subsequently granted access to the White House. The House investigation is being led by Rep. Dan Burton, who himself has been under investigation for trying to shake down a lobbyist for campaign funds. Back after this.
