Granny: What's the matter with those two? Think I'll ask. So when are we going to talk about the elephant in the room? Mike: What elephant is that, Mom? Granny: The grandchildren that aren't sitting around this table. Mike: Mom, that's... Kim: It's still under discussion. Granny: I don't get it - what's to discuss? Mike: Mom, there's my age to consider - there are certain medical risks. And actuarial risks - I want to be around! Then there's the economy - what if our business tanks? And what about child care? Or schooling? Or college? What about our retirement? Kim: Don't forget terrorism. Granny: You could raise them in Canada. They'd be safe there. Mike: We certainly can't raise them here - Mom's in the only spare room we have! Granny: Don't blame me - I'm fixin' to die. Mike: What? Kim: Okay, it'd be great if you both could get a grip.
My grandkids are the, most wonderful people I know.
