Speaker:...and the final score shall be determined by factoring your golf scores with the metered differential between your starting and finishing tans. Points will be deducted for unevenness of tanning, and peelers, of course, will be disqualified. It now gives me great pleasure to officially open the 1980 Gerald R. Ford Summer Biathlon! Ladies and gentlemen, start your tans!
I have to wonder how the women in the event deal with the “unevenness of tan” issue unless they are permitted to go topless, which I doubt in 1980. For that matter, how about everyone, men and women, going starkers? Built-in gender bias could be a problem. LWP is right about Furry Guy. I think it would be safe to assume, though, that the women use the ladies tees. It would have no effect on their tans because they still have to walk the entire course and should be out there for the same length of time. Scoring (golf shots, I mean … focus!) should theoretically be equalized as well.
