I remember listening to the Detroit Tigers on my home-made crystal set. Kids these days take modern technology for granted as if it always existed. Ownership of a high-functioning cell phone is a social imperative for them from a relatively early age. They thus become addicted to receipt of all sorts of information — much of which is not good for them. They grow up too fast these days — much to their psychological detriment. They become jaded and cynical and unable to enjoy the innocence of youth.
