For Better or For Worse by Lynn Johnston for April 23, 1995
Transcript:
John: Still awake, April? April: Uh huh. My body wants to sleep, but my mind won't let me. I wish it didn't happen, Daddy. John: So do I. April: It's all my fault. John: No it wasn't, April. He was a very old dog. It was Farley's time to go. April: I wish he would have lived forever. John: Nobody lives forever, honey. That's what makes us all so special. We are temporary. Our lives are on loan to us. Just for awhile... and nobody knows how long each life will be. That's why we have to take care of each other and to remember every day, to appreciate the ones we love. ... ?!!
The reality of a comic strip where the characters age. As much as I loved Farley you can’t have a 40 year old dog.
