Cool tap water will stop the cooking process and will also make the eff inside the shell contract. This allows us to remove the shell more easily. April: Pat? Is Jack um...OK? Pat: He's fine. Jack: (I did it! I cooked an egg by myself! I actually cooked an eff!)
I know the feeling, am 48 and only hard boiled my first eggs recently.
