It helps to have two cats. So far, had no problem with them when I am away on trip. My very first pet, with no playpal, used to think she is my mother (she licked the side of my eye raw – I loved to be licked by a cat – but hers was very rough). When I return home from trip, she would hiss at me VERY LOUDLY and I am hearing impaired, but she is nice to my mother. Guess because my mother did the most work of feeding her, etc. This would go on for at least 2 or 3 days. Just in case this make a different, my first cat was a Siami (spelling???) cat.
