I made many costumes for my kids. When they were young like this, I bought cotton flannel that they could wear for PJs after Halloween (I was poor) and I dyed it if necessary - for a brown robe for Friar Tuck and olive for Robin and Little John (I had 3 boys first). By the time I had a girl who could walk alone, I did Dorothy and the others (eldest boy was the tin man and I used contact glue to attach foil to white sheeting, but it peeled where legs rubbed and he was crying at end of day) -very sad. Costumes otherwise were great!
Coffee Turtle and Alguka- I agree! no time or talents- too bad for the kids. I loved Halloween while Cuddles was alive because it was her day (even if all the kids came just for the candy. My little Timneh is not into people that much so my lights will be out- no fun anymore ;-(
